The power of social media is in numbers. Not only are we connected to information but we are informed on movements related to major issues happening in the world. Never should you be afraid to travel or fearful of what is out in the world. Travel to educate yourself and learn about a place before judging what it is like. With that however, it is always a good idea to do a bit of research before traveling and make sure your safety is a top priority. This group was created to have a means to members that you can send quick updates to when you find out first hand that something is concerning. When you are posting content of your travels be sure to add the location where the photo was taken, and you can even take it a step further! We have started a new hash tag, #socialmediasafety, just for this group. By adding this tag to your content in a new place you are traveling to, the group can help keep you safe by looking at the group updates and following the tag. Use the power of numbers and social media to have peace of mind no matter where you travel!
